What are the drawbacks and positives of having ferrets in pairs

Pros:
*They will require less attention
*The ferret wo not be lonely
*They are sociable animals so, its better for the ferrets.

Cons:
*They might start fighting
*Twice as expensive for vet care, food, supplies, etc.
*If one dies, the other might become depressed.
*Twice the poop and cleaning
<3 Good luck

The only drawback that I can really think of is money for any potential medical costs. As far as regular yearly check-ups go.most veterinarians will offer discounts if u bring more then one animal in at a time. The big concern is, 'will the animal develop a chronic illness such as adrenal disease.' There will not be a huge difference in food. As far as cleaning goes, well, u have to clean them up daily anyway.so whats a few extra turds in the pile. ;)

The pros will outweigh the cons. Your fuzzer will have someone to 'relate' to. You will not have to dote so much.

Ferrets need to be outside the cage 4 hours a day WITH OR WITHOUT a friend.

That being said, I got 2 ferrets as my first ones, in a pair. They *may* smell a tad more, but nothing to be concerned about. They will play more, but then again, you have twice the vet bill, twice the food bill, etc.

Twice the stink!

What are the drawbacks and positives of having ferrets in pairs

Drawbacks: Twice the poopage, food consumption, and love needed.
Positives: Two ferrets, they can get along, and. More pets. :)

However, I am not sure that you can simply introduce a new ferret to another. Maybe if they're different sexes, it would be okay, but I'd try looking into that first.
